This is a paint decorated English four drawer bureau. The faux bamboo has been painted on an ochre background. There's been some restoration to the paint over the years. Square nailed body and dovetailed drawers. Great looking decorative piece.

| ANTIQUE FEDERAL TIGER MAPLE BREAKFAST TABLE |
I believe this to be a New Hampshire Federal Breakfast Table made from a medium tone tiger maple wood, c. early 1800's. Simply turned heavy center column with plain ogee curve legs. A drawer is located on either end, wooden hinged supports for the drop leaves, and a decorative touch of a ball placed under each corner. The table is in very good condition except for a very slight warp to one drop leaf. The pulls reflect the period, but are replacements. The original surface was striped at some point in time and now has a soft mellow patina. This piece is a lovely example of a center column breakfast table: simple lines letting the nicely figured curly maple be the focal point. Condition: age split on the top and the column (pictured).
